Close fastenings, turn garments inside out and wash with similar colours on the gentlest suitable cycle. Avoid unnecessary fabric softener.
Reshape after washing. Dry knitwear flat and line-dry woven garments where the label allows; high heat can shrink fibres and damage finishes.
